Edmonton, the most northern city in North America with a population of over one million, is a world-renowned winter metropolis. Each December, Zoominescence, hosted by the Valley Zoo Development Society, stages a spectacular exhibition of artistic light installations within the unique setting of the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Our vision is to celebrate light, artistry, imagination and the strong spirit of our community in the winter. Join us for an evening of light, animals, skating, hot chocolate and fun for the whole family!
We’re ready to light up the night and show you the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s sparkle as we bring back one of Edmonton’s favourite holiday festivals! Beginning Friday, December 3rd, Zoominescence is back!
From December 3rd, 2021 until January 2nd, 2022, join us Fridays through Sundays between 4:30-9:00 p.m. to see the zoo in a new light, with additional days on December 20, 21, 22, 23 and December 27, 28, 29, 30. Please note that the Zoominescence days/hours will be the ONLY time the zoo is open during this time period. The zoo will be closed Mondays-Wednesdays.
